Example 1 - Film - Blue Story Ban, The Guardian:

- Active Audience Theory - the audience can think for themselves and they should know that they shouldn't go join a gang or cause violence or start fights to hurt other people.
- Summary - 100 thugs armed with machetes and knives crashed its opening evening on Friday, November 22nd.
Example 2 - TV Program - Chilling Adventures of Sabrina ' romanticizing suicide', The Sun:

- Active Audience Theory - the Twitter extracts show how people completely disagree with the TV show's ending and feel that it was unnecessary to show especially during a global pandemic.
- Summary - Sabrina's boyfriend kills himself to be with her after she sacrifices herself to save the world, we only learn of this in the last few seconds of the scene when they are in the afterlife together saying they can be together for eternity. People took to Twitter and responded such as @joterialinda saying " TW: suicide Sabrina could have done without the last scene.. glorifying suicide... for a loved one!!! In the middle of a pandemic!! That scene should have been cut no need for it at all".
