Conglomerate Company is a company which owns smaller companies.

Example: Disney, BBC, Activision and Universal.

Subsidiaries are smaller companies within a conglomerate.

Example: Marvel and Pixar.

Independent Company is a company that is free from conglomerate ownership.

Example: Warp Films, Hat Trick Productions.

An example of a product produced by an independent company is Four lions by Warp Films.

Synergy is when you choose the most efficient method of marketing using your subsidiaries to maximise success of a brand or a product.


EXTRA:

An example of a joint venture is Derry girls by Hat Trick Productions and Channel 4.

Differences between commercial and public service companies
